Indigenous picture

In this picture I see:

  1. Kangaroos
  2. Indigenous person
  3. A stream
  4. A white person
  5. A big log
  6. A mountaintop
  7. Some grass
  8. Some trees

In this picture I think:
That this person with a gun it’s going to shoot some kangaroo and an indigenous person is watching.

I wonder: I wonder if this white person is trying to show something to the indigenous person?

What do you see, think and wonder about this picture?

Benefits of comments

Hi,

I will be telling you about why comments are so important

  1. You can have conversations which is really fun and you will learn a lot.
  2. It’s not just about chatting you can really think about what you going to say before you say it.
  3. You can get feedback that may help you make your ideas bigger.
  4. When you make a comment it can make you feel better and happier.
  5. You can meet people you didn’t know before and you can make more friends.

These are only some of the reasons

Have you got any more reasons?

Comments

Hi,

I am going to be telling you how to write quality comment.

You must always start with a greeting such as:

  • hello
  • How do you do
  • Hi
  • to

Then you can either give them a compliment or feedback.

At the end of a comment you should always ask a question to keep the conversation going.

How would you write a quality comment?

Library reflection

Hi,

my favourite book genre to read is adventure because you never know what’s about to happen. I would recommend a book called “The Miraculous Journey Of Edward Tulane” I would recommend this book because it is really interesting and once you start reading you can’t stop. My bookchat book is called: “The Miraculous Journey Of Edward Tulane” It is about a China rabbit that is very elegant and lots of people own him and at the end he…

well you have to read the book to find out. My thoughts of this story so far are: I thought this book was very interesting and it was also a bit sad too. Here is a photo of the book.

have you read a book about adventure? If so what’s it about?

All about year 4

Dear Future Year 4’s,

I hear you’re coming up to 4LX next year.

Here’s three things you should know:

•you have to do lots of homework you have to do maths, reading, spelling and integrated.

•you do comment bonaza month where you have to get as many comments on your blog in one month.

.You get to learn how to touch type.

A couple of things to look forward to are:

•camp because you get to go for two days.

.Blogging because it helps you to relax.

A time I laughed was when we jumped out and scared the other kids if it was there birthday.

A time I was challenged was when I was learning my 8x tables.

I am proud of how much I Inproved my Times tables.

I always remember Mrs Lennox saying: Remember to bring you homework!

Nativity play

“Perhaps they are still coming back,” said the guard nervously.

We did a nativity play in class. A nativity play is a story about the birth of Jesus. We had to make props, memorising lines and write what we were going to say. I made a door as a prop to use in the play. In the play I was a innkeeper ( hotel person), a guard and a sick person I had five lines to memorise.

A challenge throughout this process was was memorising lines I worked to overcome this by practicing at home. Overall I really enjoyed making props.

If you were in the play what would you want to be?

Tsunami

This term we learnt about natural disasters and how they are caused and their effects.

I researched and wrote my information report on tsunamis.

We ended the unit by creating dioramas to show our understandings and shared them with our grade two buddies. Here is my diorama:

Whilst creating my diorama i found making the tsunami challenging.

What type of natural disaster would you like to research and why? Leave a comment telling me about a natural disaster that you know about.

Division videos

We are the near the end of year and have learned many different strategies to help us in all areas of maths.
One particularly interesting method to help you to divide big numbers can be to know the divisibility rules.
Each group in our class investigated one and has made a video to share so that we can all learn from each other.
My group made this one on 3’s  click this link to see our video

Watch my video carefully and answer the final question.

Land forms

In integrated we are learning about landforms.

I am going to tell you what weathering means for an example there is a rock and this rock is getting broken by a hammer. After this process there is erosion where the broken down rock is moved by the wind. Now after this is deposition is The place it lands and this is the end of the full process.

We went for a walk around the school and found these examples.

Photo of empty grass patch

This empty grass patch was caused by people running down a hill with grass on it Another way the grass was moved is: it rained and the grass got all muddy then someone ran down the hill then the grass got on their shoes. This is an example of weathering turning into erosion

Have you ever seen something like this? Tell me what it is.

GRA STEAM Challenge

We are participating in the GRA. GRA stands for global read aloud. The book chosen this year is front desk

The book is about a girl that moves to America to live a better life.

So far I have been surprised that they never trust African Americans because of the colour.

To challenge our creative thinking, we were given challenges that Mia has faced in the book. I chose to think about when the washing machine break down.

Here is my plan: I think that if  your washing machine breaks down you should be able to call someone to do your washing for the day. If you were to Make a plan what would it be?
